Most of us saw the Blood Moon and the Eclipse this morning.  Especially if you are an early riser or you are driving in to work.  Let’s take a look at this phenomenon from a Biblical standpoint:

NASHVILLE, TN, October 6th, 2014—On October 8, 2014, millions of people around the globe will witness the second of four consecutive “blood moons” – total lunar eclipses. This is a rare astronomically occurrence, according to Pastor John Hagee in his New York Times bestseller, Four Blood Moons (Worthy Publishing). Hagee said, “Not since 1967 – and only four times in the past five hundred years – has a Tetrad of total solar eclipses corresponded to the Jewish Feasts, which historically has signaled the beginning of dramatic events that change the course of world history. This series of blood moons is no different.”

Recent headlines tell of total chaos in the Middle East since the first blood moon back on April 15. The terrorist group ISIS continues to grow in number and strength, crushing resistance across Iraq with extreme violence as it destroys churches and mosques, kills or drives from their homes anyone who does not convert to its brand of Islam, and kidnaps and beheads citizens of countries that dare to stand against it.

Unrest in the Middle East was predicted in Bible prophecy, writes Hagee. And even more history-changing occurrences will come after the second of this four blood moon series and the remaining two set to appear in 2015. The intensity is building and it’s easy to recognize all around the world.

“God has absolute control of the sun, moon, and stars. He has used them in the past to send signals to humanity that something big was about to happen,” said Pastor Hagee.“The heavens are still God’s billboard that sends signals to us today—but are we watching for them?”

“There will be signs in the sun, moon and stars. On the earth, nations will be in anguish and perplexity at the roaring and tossing of the sea . . . When these things begin to take place, stand up and lift up your heads, because your redemption draws near.”  —Luke 21: 25, 28 niv
