When does Daylight Saving Time 2014 start? Get ready to welcome more daylight after you lose an hour of sleep; because in most states in the U.S., it will be time to set your clocks ahead at 2 a.m. on March 9, 2014.
Don’t forget the adage from your childhood days: You Spring forward and Fall back!
There are only five locations within the United States that do not observe Daylight Savings Time: Arizona (with some exceptions), Hawaii, the U.S. Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, and American Samoa. If you are in these locations, your clocks do not need to spring forward.
Make sure you switch all of your timepieces (that are not automatically changed); such as:
- Alarm clock
- Stove or microwave clocks
- Grandfather clock
What else is recommended for us to do when we move the clocks forward or back? Battery check! Check the batteries in goods such as:
- Fire Detector
- Carbon Monoxide Detector
- Battery backup for alarm clocks and radios
- Walkie talkies
