In a nutshell, temperatures are predicted to be freezing by 9pm this evening, and remain there until 12noon Friday.  Frozen precipitation is a major concern, as NWS predicts we could possibly receive up to a quarter inch.

Anahuac ISD – 10am

Barbers Hill ISD – 2hr delay for all campuses

East Chambers ISD – 11am

Chambers County is closing offices tomorrow, and essential personnel will be on standby if needed.

A COLD FRONT WITH AN ARCTIC AIRMASS BEHIND HAS MOVED INTO SOUTHEAST TEXAS THIS AFTERNOON. TEMPERATURES WILL HOLD STEADY AND THEN BEGIN TO FALL DURING THE AFTERNOON AND EVENING.

TEMPERATURES SHOULD DROP BELOW FREEZING EARLY TONIGHT FROM COLLEGE STATION TO CROCKETT AND THEN AROUND MIDNIGHT FOR THE HOUSTON AREA.

FREEZING TEMPERATURES COULD REACH THE COAST DURING THE EARLY MORNING HOURS OF FRIDAY. MOISTURE RIDING OVER THE FRONTAL BOUNDARY WILL PRODUCE AREAS OF RAIN DURING THE DAY TODAY. PRECIPITATION MAY THEN CHANGE FROM RAIN TO FREEZING RAIN AND SLEET.
