418611_391954274152906_582258492_nSheriff Hawthorne reported that on May 31, 2013 at approximately 4:35 p.m., 911 Communications received a call of a man with a gun that was threatening suicide in the 7000 block of FM 2354.  Deputy Croley was assigned the call.  While traveling on FM 3180 just south of I-10, traffic on the south bound side stopped approximately ¾ of a mile from the intersection due to construction.   With his emergency equipment fully activated, (overhead emergency lights and siren) Deputy Croley proceeded past the stopped traffic and was struck by a pickup truck that pulled out from a private drive onto FM 3180.  Neither Deputy Croley nor the other driver had life threatening injuries. Deputy Croley was taken by ambulance to local San Jacinto Methodist Hospital and later released. The other driver was treated at the scene and released.  The initial 911 call for the suicide was handled by other deputies.
