BOB SANDLIN Water clear; 69–74 degrees; 4.81’ low. Black bass are good on Texas rigged Zoom Baby Brush Hogs in green pumpkin – topwater bite is best early. Crappie are good on minnows. White bass are fair on slabs. Catfish are fair on trotlines.
BONHAM Water stained, 71–75 degrees; 0.25 high. Black bass are fair on crankbaits and spinnerbaits. Crappie are excellent around the cattails on minnows and jigs. Catfish are good on Black Salty and cut bait along the bank in the park area and drifting as the presentation.
BRAUNIG Water clear. Black bass are fair on watermelon spinnerbaits and crankbaits near the dam. Striped bass are good on liver and perch off points. Redfish are fair on tilapia, crawfish, and silver spoons. Channel and blue catfish are fair on liver, shrimp, and cheesebait near the dam.
BRIDGEPORT Water clear; 69–73 degrees; 17.00’ low. Black bass are fair on Xcite squarebill crankbaits around shallow cover as well as small swimbaits in shad patterns and Megabass Pop X in white python color. Crappie are fair on minnows. White bass are good on slabs and crankbaits. Hybrid striper are fair on slabs. Channel catfish are good on trotlines.
BROWNWOOD Water stained; 69–73 degrees; 11.75’ low. Black bass to 5 pounds are good on RJA crankbaits and flukes in the evenings in 3–5 feet, and on spinnerbaits around docks early. Hybrid striper are slow. White bass are good on minnows and watermelon jigs off lighted docks at night in 5–15 feet. Crappie are good on minnows and watermelon tube jigs over brush piles in 5–10 feet. Channel catfish are slow. Blue catfish are slow. Yellow catfish are slow.
BUCHANAN Water stained; 71–75 degrees; 27.14’ low. Black bass are fair on green pumpkin topwaters, Texas rigged grape Scoundrel worms, and flukes around stumps on points in 5–15 feet early. Striped bass are fair on Red Fins, Zara Jr’s, and trolling crankbaits from Lighthouse Point to the dam on the surface at daylight. White bass are slow. Crappie are good on minnows and Curb’s crappie jigs over brush piles. Channel catfish are good on live bait and dipbait. Yellow and blue catfish are very good on juglines and Trotlines baited with goldfish and perch.
CADDO Water stained; 71–76 degrees; 0.35’ high. Black bass are fair on Texas rigged craws. White and yellow bass are good on slabs. Catfish are good on cut bait and trotlines. CALAVERAS Water clear. Black bass are slow. Striped bass are good on spoons and striper jigs between the dam and the crappie wall. CANYON LAKE Water clear; 71–75 degrees; 9.92’ low. Black bass are fair on Pop R’s, green pumpkin crankbaits, and flukes upriver along shorelines in 5–10 feet early. Striped bass are slow. White bass are fair on minnows and crappie jigs. Smallmouth bass are fair on chartreuse grubs and craws and watermelon red tubes on ball jigheads along ledges in 10–20 feet. Crappie are fair on white tube jigs and live minnows over submerged brush piles in 8–16 feet. Channel catfish are slow. Yellow and blue catfish are fair on juglines and trotlines upriver.
CEDAR CREEK Water clear; 68–73 degrees; 3.43’ low. Black bass are fair on weightless wacky worms and topwaters early. Dock bite is slow. White bass are fair on slabs. Hybrid striper are good on live shad. Crappie are fair on minnows. Catfish are good on cut shad.
CHOKE CANYON Water clear; 73–77 degrees; 20.12’ low. Black bass are fair on pumpkinseed crankbaits and large soft plastic worms. Crappie are good on minnows and chartreuse tube jigs. Drum are slow. Channel and blue catfish are good on stinkbait in 5–15 feet. Yellow catfish are fair on trotlines baited with live perch.
COLEMAN Water clear; 69–73 degrees; 14.86’ low. Black bass are good on watermelon Rat–L–Traps, spinnerbaits, and soft plastic worms and lizards. Hybrid striper are good on live shad near the park and the store. Crappie are good on minnows at night. Channel catfish are good on trotlines baited with live perch. Yellow catfish are slow.
COLETO CREEK Water clear; 2.00’ low. Black bass are fair on watermelon soft plastics and topwaters. Striped bass are slow. White bass are slow. Crappie are good on minnows and blue tube jigs. Channel and blue catfish are slow. Yellow catfish are slow.

CONROE Water stained; 71–75 degrees; 2.71’ low. Black bass are good on watermelon Carolina rigged worms with chartreuse tails, crankbaits, and Rat–L–Traps. Striped bass are fair on silver striper jigs. Crappie are good on minnows and white tube jigs over brush in 15–20 feet. Catfish are good on stinkbait, chicken livers, and minnows.
COOPER Water clear; 72–76 degrees; 8.40’ low. Black bass are good on shallow crankbaits. Crappie are good on minnows. White bass are fair on slabs. Hybrid striper are fair on live shad. Catfish are good on cut bait.
FAIRFIELD Fishing has been slow since the fish kill in September of 2010. TPWD has discontinued stocking the lake after another kill in early September 2011. Redfish and black bass survived the kill in limited numbers.
FALCON Water murky; 73–77 degrees; 38.61’ low. Black bass are good on shallow running crankbaits in 10–12 feet. Striped bass are slow. Crappie are slow. Channel and blue catfish are excellent on liver, cut bait, stinkbait, and frozen shrimp. Yellow catfish are slow. Everyone in a boat must have a Mexico fishing license (if fishing the Mexico side) whether fishing or not.
FAYETTE Water stained. Black bass are fair on green pumpkin spinnerbaits and soft plastics in 8–16 feet. Channel and blue catfish are fair on shrimp over baited holes.
FORK Water clear; 69–75 degrees; 4.37’ low. Black bass are slow on Texas rigged worms in 4–8’ of water on main lake points as well as Megabass Pop X and Giant Dog X topwaters. Yellow bass and white bass are good on minnows. Crappie are fair on minnows. Catfish are good on prepared bait.
FT. PHANTOM HILL Water clear; 59–64 degrees; 11.71’ low. Black bass are fair on Rat–L–Traps, chatterbaits and Texas rigs. Crappie are fair on minnows and jigs. White bass are fair to good on slabs. Catfish are fair to good on cut bait.
GIBBONS CREEK Water clear. Black bass are fair on green pumpkin soft plastic worms and crankbaits. Crappie are good on minnows. Catfish are good on nightcrawlers, cut bait, and chicken livers.
GRANBURY Water lightly stained; 71–75 degrees; 6.86’ low. Black bass are fair on watermelon soft plastics, crankbaits, and Rat–L–Traps. Striped bass are slow. HOUSTON COUNTY Water stained; 76–80 degrees; 0.19’ low. Black bass to 10 pounds are excellent on black/blue jigs near the dam, and on white or yellow shad crankbaits in 10 feet. Crappie are excellent on live minnows over brush in 25 feet. Bream are good on live worms off points and in shallow areas. Catfish to 8 pounds are good on trotlines baited with live bait, and on rod & reel using chicken livers.

Water Body Report
NORTH SABINE Trout are fair to good on the Louisiana shoreline on topwaters and Corkies. Redfish are good in the marsh and the Louisiana shoreline on live bait.
SOUTH SABINE Sheepshead and black drum are good at the jetty on live shrimp. Trout are fair to good around slicks and pods of shad.
BOLIVAR Trout are fair to good on the south shoreline on Bass Assassins, Trout Killers and Sand Eels. Black drum, sand trout and redfish are good at Rollover Pass.
TRINITY BAY Trout are good for drifters working pods of shad and mullet on Bass Assassins, Trout Killers and Sand Eels. Waders have taken better trout on the shell along the east shoreline.
EAST GALVESTON BAY Trout are good on the south shoreline on Catch 5s, MirrOlures and topwaters. Whiting and sand trout are good on the edge of the Intracoastal on fresh shrimp.
WEST GALVESTON BAY Sheepshead, redfish and black drum are good at the jetty on shrimp and crabs. Sand trout are good in the ICW on fresh shrimp. Fishing at night has been along the San Leon shoreline.
TEXAS CITY Trout are fair to good on the reefs on live shrimp and croakers. Redfish are fair to good in Moses Lake on mullet and shrimp.
FREEPORT Trout are fair to good at San Luis Pass on shrimp. Sand trout and sheepshead are good on live shrimp on the reefs in Christmas Bay. Trout and redfish are good at the jetties on live shrimp and finger mullet.
EAST MATAGORDA BAY Trout, redfish, sand trout and croakers are fair to good for drifters on live shrimp over humps and scattered shell. Redfish are fair to good on the edge of the Intracoastal on crabs and mullet.
WEST MATAGORDA BAY Redfish are fair to good on the edge of Oyster Lake on shrimp and crabs. Trout are fair on shell and grass on soft plastics and live shrimp. Redfish are fair to good on south shoreline reefs.
PORT O’CONNOR Trout and redfish are good on topwaters over sand and grass in the guts in San Antonio Bay. Trout and redfish are fair for drifters working the back lakes with live shrimp. Trout are good on the reefs in San Antonio Bay on shrimp and croakers.
ROCKPORT Trout are fair to good in the guts and channels on free–lined shrimp. Trout are fair over grass while drifting with live shrimp. Waders have taken trout on topwaters around Mud Island.
PORT ARANSAS Redfish are fair to good at East Flats and around Dagger Island on shrimp and crabs. Trout, redfish and sheepshead are fair to good at the jetty on shrimp and croakers.
CORPUS CHRISTI Trout are fair to good on the edge of the spoils on Gulps and live shrimp. Redfish are good along the spoils on shrimp and Gulps.
BAFFIN BAY Trout are fair to good in the sand and grass guts on topwaters and plastics. Trout are good at night in the Land Cut on live shrimp. Redfish are fair to good in the grass on small topwaters.
PORT MANSFIELD Trout are good on topwaters and plastics under popping corks around sand and grass. Redfish are fair to good while drifting pot holes and while wading the spoils.
SOUTH PADRE Trout are good around the spoil islands, channel edges and color changes on DOA Shrimp and live shrimp. Redfish are fair while drifting sand and grass on Gulps and live shrimp under a popping cork.
PORT ISABEL Trout and redfish are fair to good on the flats on live shrimp. Redfish are fair to good in South Bay on topwaters and Gulps. Snook are showing on topwaters.
