I just want to let you all know that I received some sad news this weekend.

Mr. Louis V. Fruge, a long time Old River-Winfree resident, and at one time served as the City Marshall had a heart attack in his sleep and died.  He was 56 years old.

From the Obituary:  Louis V. Fruge, Jr., 56, of Old River, passed away Sunday, February 17, 2013 in Baytown. He was born October 31, 1956 in Lake Charles, Louisiana, graduated from Dayton High School in 1975 and had lived in the Old River area most of his life.

Louis was a safety manager for Linden Bulk Transportation for the last 12 years. He was formerly a reserve deputy with the Chambers County Sheriff’s Office and city marshal of Old River and was known for his sense of humor and always enjoying a good joke.

You may know one of his sons, Kiel Williams, who resides in Old River-Winfree and is known for his volunteerism with Old River-Winfree Founders Day and the City of Old River-Winfree.

Please pass this information on as I know people in our community would want to know and offer their support to the family.

The funeral is Wednesday at at 2 pm, viewing is from 12-2 pm at Navarre funeral home on 2444 Rollingbrook, Baytown
