severe_graphics_jan29-page0001A strong upper level storm system and cold front are approaching Southeast Texas today.  A line of strong storms, some possibly severe, is expected to move into northwest portions of  the area (College Station to Crockett) late this afternoon or early this evening.  As the cold front and line moves eastward across the area this evening, severe thunderstorms are possible generally along and north of I-10, and between 4 PM and 10 PM today.  The main threats will be strong wind gusts and isolated tornadoes.  The chance of severe weather increases from the SW to NE across Southeast Texas.

Therefore, the greatest severe weather risk is northeast of a line from Madisonville to Huntsville to Cleveland.  See the attachment to visualize the threats.
