Shallow running Crush 50X crankbaits and Yellow Magic topwaters in shad patterns are good early in the day. Crappie are good on minnows. White bass are good on slabs. FAIRFIELD Fishing has been slow since the fish kill in September of 2010. TPWD has discontinued stocking the lake after another kill in early September 2011. Redfish and black bass survived the kill in limited numbers.
FALCON Water murky; 82–86 degrees; 34.53’ low. Black bass are fair on chartreuse spinnerbaits, crankbaits, and Rat–L–Traps. Striped bass are slow. Crappie are slow. Channel and blue catfish are excellent on stinkbait and cut bait upriver. Yellow catfish are slow.
