AMISTAD Water clear; 67–71 degrees; 20.37’ low. Black bass are very good on jerkbaits, spinnerbaits, crankbaits, spinnerbaits, and jigs. White bass are fair on jigging spoons, minnows, white grubs, and small crankbaits. Striped bass are fair on jigging spoons, minnows, white grubs, and small crankbaits. Catfish are good on cheesebait, shrimp, and nightcrawlers over baited holes in 12–15 feet. Yellow catfish are good on trotlines, throwlines, and droplines baited with live perch. BOB SANDLIN Water stained; 70–76 degrees; 2.77’ low. Black bass are fair to good on soft plastics and shallow crankbaits. Crappie are good on live minnows and jigs. White bass are good on Humdingers. Catfish are fair to good on trotlines or juglines with Redneck’s Catfish Bait Soap. All boat ramps are now open.
BRAUNIG Water clear. Black bass are fair on spinnerbaits and crankbaits. Striped bass are fair on liver and perch near Dead Tree Point. Redfish are slow. Channel and blue catfish are good on shrimp, cheesebait, and cut bait.
BRIDGEPORT Water stained; 70–75 degrees; 5.04’ low. Black bass are good on Texas rigged green pumpkin creature baits and shallow running large body crankbaits along secondary points. Crappie are good on jigs and minnows. White bass are good on slabs. Hybrid striper are good on slabs (best action mid day). Channel catfish are fair on cut and prepared bait.
BROWNWOOD Water murky; 72–78 degrees; 10.04’ low. Black bass to 6 pounds are excellent on Shaky heads with Grande Bass Baby Rattlesnakes and green pumpkin Bass Hogg jigs along rock cuts in 1–4 feet. Hybrid striper are slow. White bass are fair on Li’l Fishies and Rat–L–Traps. Crappie are excellent on Li’l Fishies and black/chartreuse tube jigs in 8–15 feet under lights at night. Channel catfish are slow. Yellow catfish are slow.
BUCHANAN Water murky; 66–70 degrees; 23.80’ low. Black bass are good on Bleeding Shad Rat–L–Traps, chartreuse Terminator spinnerbaits, and pumpkinseed Whacky Sticks over grass in creeks. Striped bass are fair on white jigs, silver Pirk Minnows, and live bait in 12–25 feet. White bass are fair on chartreuse Rat–L–Traps, watermelon Senkos, and Li’l Fishies early. Crappie are fair on minnows and white tube jigs. Channel catfish are fair on shrimp and cut bait. Yellow and blue catfish are slow.
CADDO Water stained; 70–76 degrees; 1.00’ high. Black bass are good on black/blue soft plastics and soft plastics around isolated cover. Spinnerbaits in the same areas are effective. White bass are fair on slabs. Yellow bass are good on minnows. Catfish are fair on nightcrawlers and prepared bait.
CALAVERAS Water clear. Black bass are fair on minnows over grass. Striped bass are fair on spoons and chicken livers near the dam. Redfish are slow. Channel catfish are good on liver, shrimp, and cheesebait. Blue catfish are good on cut bait and liver. Yellow catfish are slow.
CANYON LAKE Water stained; 67–71 degrees; 6.72’ low. Black bass are good on chartreuse topwaters and spinnerbaits, and on root beer/red flake Baby Brush Hogs in creeks, and main lake flats in 10–18 feet. Striped bass are slow. White bass are fair on watermelon Rat–L–Traps and spinnerbaits upriver. Smallmouth bass are good on chartreuse tubes on jigheads, white JDC curl tail grubs, and Bleeding Shad Tiny Traps along main lake points and ledges. Crappie are fair on minnows and blue tube jigs over brush piles. Channel catfish are fair on shrimp and stinkbait. Yellow and blue catfish are slow.
CEDAR CREEK Water stained; 70–74 degrees; 0.02’ low. Black bass are good on Texas rigged creature baits, spinnerbaits and black/blue finesse jigs around main lake points and into the backs of creeks. White bass are good on slabs. Hybrid striper are good on live shad. Crappie are fair to good on minnows. Catfish are fair drifting cut shad.
CHOKE CANYON Water clear; 68–72 degrees; 12.52’ low. Black bass are fair on watermelon spinnerbaits and crankbaits. White bass are fair on minnows. Crappie are slow. Channel and blue catfish are fair on nightcrawlers and stinkbait. Yellow catfish are fair on trotlines baited with live perch.
COLEMAN Water lightly stained; 65–69 degrees; 15.06’ low. Black bass are slow. Hybrid striper are fair on minnows and chartreuse striper jigs. Crappie are good on minnows and white tube jigs. Channel catfish are slow. Yellow catfish are slow.

CONROE Water fairly clear; 67–71 degrees; 2.06’ low. Black bass are good on watermelon Carolina rigged soft plastics, and on small spinnerbaits. Striped bass are fair on minnows. Crappie are fair on minnows and pink tube jigs. Catfish are good on stinkbait and cheesebait.
COOPER Water lightly stained; 70–75 degrees; 0.84’ low. Black bass are good on chartreuse shallow crankbaits and Texas rigged craw worms later in the day. Green pumpkin soft plastics are best. Crappie are good on minnows. White bass are good on slabs. Hybrid striper are fair to good on Sassy Shad and live shad. Catfish are good on prepared bait and cut bait. Doctor’s Creek, Tira, and South Sulphur ramps are all open.
FAIRFIELD Fishing has been slow since the fish kill in September of 2010. TPWD has discontinued stocking the lake after another kill in early September 2011. Redfish and black bass survived the kill in limited numbers.
FALCON Water stained north, clear from marker 12 south; 70–74 degrees; 21.48’ low. Black bass are good on watermelon and chartreuse soft plastics, spinnerbaits, and Rat–L–Traps. Striped bass are slow. Crappie are very good on minnows. Channel and blue catfish are very good on frozen shrimp, stinkbait, nightcrawlers, and cut bait. Yellow catfish are slow. FAYETTE Water stained. Black bass are good on chartreuse Carolina rigged soft plastic worms and shallow running perch colored crankbaits over grass. Channel and blue catfish are fair on shrimp and bloodbait.
FORK Water stained; 71–76 degrees; 1.91’ low. Black bass are good on soft plastic baits. Shallow crankbaits on windy points are working well later in the day. Some reports of topwater bites being reported. Spawning fish are being reported on beds. Crappie are good on minnows and jigs. Catfish are good on cut shad and prepared bait.
FT. PHANTOM HILL Water clear; 70–76 degrees; 10.01’ low. Black bass are fair to good on Texas rigs, shallow running crankbaits, Rat–L–Traps and spinnerbaits. Crappie are fair on live minnows. White bass are fair to good on minnows and Rooster Tails. Catfish are fair on cut bait and nightcrawlers.
GIBBONS CREEK Water clear. Black bass are good on watermelon soft plastics, spinnerbaits, and crankbaits. Crappie are good on minnows. Catfish are fair on stinkbait and shrimp.
GRANBURY Water murky; 66–70 degrees; 0.38’ low. Black bass are good on chartreuse soft plastics, crankbaits, and Rat–L–Traps. Striped bass are fair on Li’l Fishies and white striper jigs. White bass are fair on Li’l Fishies and chartreuse spinnerbaits. Crappie are fair on minnows and blue tube jigs. Catfish are good on stinkbait and shrimp.

GRAPEVINE Water lightly stained; 70–74 degrees; 1.16’ high. Black bass are slow on watermelon Texas rigged worms, watermelon finesse jigs, spinnerbaits, and Jackall ASKA crankbaits along main lake points. Crappie are good on minnows. White bass are good on slabs. Catfish are fair to good on nightcrawlers and cut shad.
GREENBELT Water stained; 69–75 degrees; 37.85’ low. Black bass are fair on Texas rigs, wacky rigs, spinnerbaits and split shot rigs. Crappie are fair on live and minnows. The Old Marina Point ramp is still open.
HOUSTON COUNTY Water stained; 67–71 degrees; 0.58’ high. Black bass are good on June bug soft plastic worms on the south side of the lake in 8–15 feet. Crappie are good on live minnows off piers and over brush piles in 15 feet. Bream are fair on live worms from piers. Channel and blue catfish are good on stinkbait off piers and on trotlines baited with perch.
HUBBARD CREEK 71–78 degrees; 14.37’ low. Black bass are fair to good on jigs, finesse spinnerbaits, Texas rigs and shallow running crankbaits. Crappie are fair on jigs and minnows. Catfish are fair to good on stinkbait and nightcrawlers.
JOE POOL Water lightly stained; 69–75 degrees; 0.23’ high. Black bass are good on Texas rigged creature baits, spinnerbaits, and smaller jigs – mid–day bite has been best. Crappie are good on minnows and jigs. White bass are good on slabs. Catfish are fair to good on prepared baits.

Chrome/Blue 5/8oz rattle baits worked around grass in 4–8 feet of water near secondary points. Crappie are good on minnows in standing timber in 12–18 feet of water. White bass are excellent on slabs in 15–20 feet of water on humps and points toward the mouths of major creeks, watch for the gulls. Catfish are good around baited holes on Danny King’s punch bait.

Crappie are fair on 1/16oz. curl tail grubs and small minnows on docks, bridge pilings and deep timber. White bass are excellent on white SSS Slabs and tailspins – schooling on points early and late. Striped bass and hybrid striper are good on 4” to 6” white or shad pattern Sassy Shad in the shallows early then suspending deep during the day – drifting live bait is also producing. Catfish are excellent in deep water drifting cut bait and fresh shad.
TEXOMA Water stained; 70–75 degrees; 0.08’ low. The Blue–Green Algae alert has been downgraded to an advisory. Bodily contact with water is no longer prohibited. It is now just discouraged.
