Old River-Winfree Founders Day is proud to announce the selection of Ms. Jeanette Green as “Volunteer of the Year”!

A resident of Old River-Winfree and Reflection Printing Account Manager, Jeanette has been Chairman of the Pie/Cake/Cupcake Bakeoff for two years in a row and we looks forward to another year with her in October 2012.

Ms Green took over the Chairmanship in 2010 and ran with it.  With her personality, tenacity, and overall drive, she has nurtured the event to the success it is today.

Jeanette is a person, that once given a job, she takes it to a winning finish.

She is a team player you can count on.  Her presentation style in the auctioning of the entries to benefit the Wounded Warrior Project, along with auctioneer, Michael Brown, (President of the Silsbee Archangels, a Christian Motorcyle Ministry) rivals anything you see on the “Price is Right”!

Through Jeanette’s efforts and that of Bob Botto, Race Manager of the annual 5K Run/Walk benefiting the Wounded Warrior Project, a record amount of almost $12,000 was raised!

A Press Release will be issued to local newspapers next week!  Congratulations to Jeanette on a Job Well Done!!

This gives Old River-Winfree Founders Day two “Volunteers of the Year” that are well deserved!  Mr. Boyce Morris, Jr. was named “Volunteer of the Year” by the City of Old River-Winfree.

The Annual Pie/Cake/Cupcake Bakeoff is sponsored by Carnes Engineering.  Thanks so much for the sponsorship!  Carnes Engineering has sponsored this event three years in a row!
