Striped bass are good on crankbaits, large topwaters, and large Red Fins. White bass are fair on slabs, white crankbaits, and minnows. Crappie are slow. Catfish are good on cheesebait, shrimp, and nightcrawlers over baited holes. Yellow catfish are fair on trotlines baited with live perch. BASTROP Water clear; 68–71 degrees. Black bass are fair on spinnerbaits, crankbaits, and minnows. Crappie are good on minnows and blue tube jigs. Channel and blue catfish are good on shrimp and live bait. Yellow catfish are fair on live perch.
BELTON Water murky; 67–70 degrees; 11.70’ low. Black bass are slow. Hybrid striper are slow. White bass are slow. Crappie are slow. Channel and blue catfish are fair on hot dogs and summer sausage. Yellow catfish are slow.
BOB SANDLIN Water lightly stained; 68–73 degrees; 8.91’ low. Black bass are fair to good on black/blue jigs, shakyheads with finesse worms and shallow running crankbaits. Crappie are good on live minnows and jigs. White bass are good on Humdingers and topwaters. Catfish are fair to good on trotlines or juglines with Redneck’s Catfish Bait Soap. Barefoot Bay and Titus Park are the only usable ramps.
BRAUNIG Water clear. Black bass are good on crankbaits and dark soft plastic worms near the jetty and dam. Striped bass are fair on liver and shad near the pier and at Dead Tree Point. Redfish are fair down rigging spoons near the jetty and dam. Channel catfish are good on liver, shrimp, and cheesebait near the intake. Blue catfish are good on cut bait.
BRIDGEPORT Water clear; 68–74 degrees; 12.25’ low. Black bass are good on shallow running crankbaits in shad patterns and TN Shad Jackall ASKA 60SRs along main lake points (schooling reported in middle to backs of creeks). Crappie are good on jigs and minnows. White bass are good on slabs. Hybrid striper are good on slabs (best action mid day). Channel catfish are fair on cut and prepared bait.
BROWNWOOD Water lightly stained; 69–73 degrees; 15.69’ low. Black bass are good on watermelon chatterbaits, Finesse worms, and craw colored crankbaits. Hybrid striper are fair trolling spinnerbaits. White bass are good on small Rat–L–Traps and perch colored crankbaits off lighted docks at night. Crappie are good on chartreuse tube jigs over brush piles and under lighted docks at night. Channel catfish are good on cut bait and stinkbait over baited holes in 10–20 feet. Yellow catfish are good on trotlines baited with perch.
BUCHANAN Water clear; 67–71 degrees; 31.59’ low. Black bass are good on white Spinnerbaits, perch colored Rat–L–Traps, and chartreuse crankbaits in 10–20 feet. Striped bass are fair on Red Fins, Zara Spooks, and Spoiler Shads near Lighthouse Point in 20–35 feet. White bass are fair on plastic swim baits and Tiny Traps in 10–20 feet. Crappie are fair on chartreuse Curb’s crappie jigs and live minnows. Channel catfish are good on shrimp, minnows, and cheesebait. Yellow and blue catfish are good on perch and live shad.
CADDO Water stained; 65–73 degrees; 1.79’ low. Black bass are good on Texas rigged creature baits around isolated cover. Shallow crankbaits and spinnerbaits are producing numbers of fish. White bass are fair on slabs. Yellow bass are good on minnows. Catfish are fair on nightcrawlers and prepared bait.
CALAVERAS Water clear. Black bass are fair on chartreuse soft plastic worms, spinnerbaits, and crankbaits around reed beds. Striped bass are fair on spoons and jigs near the crappie wall and the dam. Redfish are good on live bait and down rigging spoons with green grubs near the dam. Crappie are slow. Channel and blue catfish are fair on shrimp and shad. Yellow catfish are slow.
CANYON LAKE Water clear; 66–70 degrees; 9.88’ low. Black bass are good on white spinnerbaits, watermelon Scoundrel worms, and Texas rigged 6” pumpkinseed worms in 15–25 feet. Striped bass are fair jigging 1oz. Pirk Minnows and trolling crankbaits at daylight. White bass are slow. Smallmouth bass are fair on pumpkinseed JDC grubs and watermelon Curb’s jigs in 15–30 feet. Crappie are fair on minnows and blue tube jigs upriver. Channel catfish are slow. Yellow and blue catfish are good on trotlines and juglines baited with live goldfish and perch.
CEDAR CREEK Water lightly stained; 66–72 degrees; 7.68’ low. Black bass are good on Texas rigged worms, shakyheads, spinnerbaits and finesse jigs around docks. White bass are good on slabs. Hybrid striper are good on live shad. Crappie are fair to good on minnows. Catfish are fair drifting cut shad.
CHOKE CANYON Water clear; 68–72 degrees; 11.38’ low. Black bass are good on chartreuse soft plastics in 15–20 feet. White bass are slow. Crappie are fair on blue tube jigs and minnows. Channel and blue catfish are fair on shrimp and stinkbait. Yellow catfish are fair on live perch.
COLEMAN Water clear; 68–71 degrees; 15.49’ low. Black bass are good on chartreuse spinnerbaits and soft plastics. Hybrid striper are slow. Crappie are fair on minnows and green tube jigs. Channel catfish are good on shrimp and stinkbait. Yellow catfish are slow.

CONROE Water fairly clear; 69–73 degrees; 7.66’ low. Black bass are good on chartreuse soft plastics, Rat–L–Traps, and topwaters. Striped bass are fair on live minnows and silver striper jigs. Crappie are good on minnows and white tube jigs. Catfish are fair on stinkbait, shrimp, and nightcrawlers.
COOPER Water lightly stained; 64–72 degrees; 12.73’ low. Black bass are good on shallow crankbaits, spinnerbaits and Texas rigged worms throughout the day. Crappie are good on minnows. White bass are good on slabs. Hybrid striper are fair to good on Sassy Shad and live shad. Catfish are good on prepared bait and cut bait. Doctor’s Creek is the only open ramp.
FAIRFIELD Fishing has been slow since the fish kill in September of 2010. TPWD has discontinued stocking the lake after another kill in early September 2011. Redfish and black bass survived the kill in limited numbers.
FALCON Water murky; 72–76 degrees. Black bass are good on spinnerbaits, topwaters and deep running crankbaits. Striped bass are still in the lake in very limited numbers. Crappie are fair on minnows. Channel and blue catfish are good on cut bait and shrimp. Yellow catfish are slow. Everyone in a boat must have a Mexico fishing license (if fishing the Mexico side) whether fishing or not.
FAYETTE Water clear. Black bass are good on shad colored Rat–L–Traps. Red ear perch are fair on worms. Channel and blue catfish are fair on live bait.
FORK Water fairly clear; 69–74 degrees; 7.59’ low. Black bass are good on flipping jigs – concentrate on the wood cover near creek channel bends. The shallow bite is good early on topwaters and soft plastics and the deep spoon bite is improving on main lake points and along creek channels. Bass continue to school mid day around bridges. The night bite has been good after midnight. Crappie are good on minnows and jigs. Catfish are good on cut shad and prepared bait.
FT. PHANTOM HILL Water clear; 58–66 degrees; 9.87’ low. Black bass are fair to good on Texas rigs and spinnerbaits. Crappie are fair on minnows. White bass are fair to good on Road Runners. Catfish are good on nightcrawlers.
GIBBONS CREEK Water clear. Black bass are good on chartreuse crankbaits, spinnerbaits, and Rat–L–Traps. Crappie are good on minnows and white tube jigs. Catfish are fair on stinkbait, shrimp, and nightcrawlers.
GRANBURY Water clear; 67–71 degrees; 4.83’ low. Black bass are good on shad colored Rat–L–Traps and topwaters early and late. Striped bass are slow. White bass are fair on minnows and Li’l Fishies. Crappie are fair on minnows and green tube jigs. Catfish are good on stinkbait, shrimp, and nightcrawlers.
GRANGER Water stained; 69–72 degrees; 5.43’ low. Black bass are good on watermelon soft plastics and white spinnerbaits upriver around timber. White bass are slow. Crappie are fair on minnows in 4–12 feet. Blue catfish are good on juglines baited with shad and cut bait. Yellow catfish are fair on trotlines baited with live perch.
GRAPEVINE Water clear; 69–73 degrees; 5.21’ low. Black bass are good on Texas rigged worms, finesse jigs, and topwaters along main lake points. Baitfish are concentrating at mouths of creeks and pockets. Crappie are good on minnows. White bass are good on topwaters and Rat–L–Traps. Catfish are fair to good on nightcrawlers and cut shad.
GREENBELT Water stained; 52–65 degrees; 37.63’ low. Black bass are fair on topwaters early, later switching to Texas rigs and Rat–L–Traps. Crappie are fair to good on live minnows. The Old Marina Point ramp is still open.
HOUSTON COUNTY Water clear; 70–73 degrees; 3.67’ low. Black bass to 3 pounds are fair on silver flake worms and shad colored poppers near the islands early and late. Crappie are slow. Red ear bream are slow. Channel and blue catfish are slow.
HUBBARD CREEK 57–65 degrees; 14.5’ low. Black bass are good on spinnerbaits, Texas rigs and weightless flukes. Crappie are fair on live minnows. Catfish are fair to good on nightcrawlers.
JOE POOL Water clear; 69–74 degrees; 3.32’ low. Black bass are good on Texas rigs, shallow crankbaits and smaller jigs. Baitfish are transitioning shallow. Deep brush piles are best later in day. Crappie are good on minnows and jigs. White bass are good on slabs. Catfish are fair to good on prepared baits.
LAKE O’ THE PINES Water lightly stained; 68–73 degrees; 4.52’ low. Black bass are good on Texas rigs, shallow crankbaits and spinnerbaits along main lake points. Later in the day fish are holding tight to cover with some success reported on topwaters. Crappie are good on minnows and jigs. Catfish are good on cut shad.
LAVON Water lightly stained; 69–73 degrees; 12.98’ low. Black bass are good on Texas rigged creature baits, topwaters and squarebill crankbaits. The shallow bite is good early. White bass are good on slabs. Crappie are good on minnows and jigs around bridge columns. Catfish are good on cut shad and nightcrawlers.

TAWAKONI Water fairly clear; 67–73 degrees; 7.22’ low. Black bass are good on topwaters early, later switching to black/blue Firewater 1/2oz jigs, Texas rigged blue fleck worms and squarebill crankbaits. Bladed jigs are producing on windier days. Crappie are fair on 1/16oz. curl tail grubs and small minnows on docks, bridge pilings and deep timber. White bass are excellent on white SSS Slabs and tailspins – schooling on points early and late. Striped bass and hybrid striper are good on 4” to 6” white or shad pattern Sassy Shad in the shallows early then suspending deep during the day – drifting live bait is also producing. Catfish are excellent in deep water drifting cut bait and fresh shad.
TEXOMA Water fairly clear; 67–72 degrees; 7.26’ low. The lake is currently experiencing an outbreak of Blue–Green Algae. Please check http://www.tpwd.state.tx.us/fishboat/fish/recreational/lakes/texoma prior to planning a trip to Texoma. All contact with water by people and animals is prohibited. Boating is allowed, but boaters are cautioned to reduce their speed because the spray caused by higher speeds can be dangerous if inhaled.
TOLEDO BEND Water stained; 68–72 degrees; 12.24’ low. Black bass are fair on perch colored soft plastic worms, spinnerbaits, and topwaters early and late. Striped bass are slow. White bass are slow.
